Kids in Motion

Today we met up with Paeton's friends Austin & Cole at Kids in Motion, a really cool play place in New Berlin. Evan lounged in the infant area looking cool with his natural mohawk. I'm getting a little concerned that his hair isn't growing anywhere else!
Paeton, Austin & Cole enjoyed playing in the construction room.

Paeton also LOVED banging on all the instruments.

Evan was so overstimulated by everything...he didn't take a morning nap. He slept the entire afternoon!

Bubbletime came every 15 minutes and as you can see, the kids loved it!

Good Friends

Today we went over to Paeton's friend Riley's house to play. Their friend, Eva, joined them. Here's the girls starting a painting project together.

Apple Festival

We took the kids to a local Apple Festival last Saturday. We just had an 'okay' time but it was good to do something as a family.
We took a horse drawn carriage ride that was SO bumpy!
Jodi and Paeton could barely hold still for the picture!
We walked through scarecrow lane which was a path filled with scarecrows people had made and submitted for a contest.
Paeton had her first piece of apple pie 'a la mode'. She only liked the 'a la mode' part :)
Jodi showed Paeton all the critters inside at the Retzer Nature Center.
Evan took a nice nap in his stroller.
There were so many pretty caramel apples on display.

Final Day of Summer 2010

Sadly, today is the 2nd to last day of summer. We had a great summer, I must say - despite the fact that I was very pregnant for the majority of it. But that's all forgotten now that we have our adorable son.
Paeton enjoyed so many things about this summer: swimming, visiting lots of new parks and places, turning two and getting a new baby brother. Above, she's drowning her first chocolate milkshake in minutes!

Paeton managed to find the one puddle at Kinderberg Park this morning and found much joy in running through it countless times. I normally would have been yanking her out of it but I decided to take out the video camera and treasure my 2 year old and all that comes with her.

Enjoy!

Paeton's Surgery #2

Paeton underwent her second cleft palate surgery yesterday at Children's Hospital in Wauwatosa, WI. Dr.Jensen, her surgeon, repaired a hole he found in the roof of mouth that led into her nasal cavity. Paeton did amazing with everything. She is such a trooper.
We'd like to thank everyone that has been there for us throughout this process. We felt everyone's thoughts and prayers over the past 24 hours which we are so thankful for and blessed by. We got to come home today after spending the night there and she gets to recover at home.

Evan & Frank

Evan met his cousin Frances for the very first time this past weekend in Oshkosh. Frances was born June 25 - they are 5 weeks apart.

Laura and I discussed that even though they look so cute and innocent right now...soon they'll be wrestling!

Bye Bye Summer

It's 48 degrees right now at 7:30am and only getting into the 60s today...I ran out yesterday to get hats for the kids because we didn't have any for this season. I'm not ready for this yet!

Grandma & Grandpa Marx Visit

My parents came to visit last week for 6 days. We did a ton of fun things and it was so great seeing them with the kids. Our first stop was Kinderberg Park.
My mom got to have lots of snuggle time with Evan that day.
Paeton kept us all entertained while she ran around wild in her swimsuit...she just loves this park.
She loved showing Grandpa Marx the splashpad they have there. She kept trying to get him all wet.
Evan just relaxed the whole time.
Later that day, back at the house, Grandma Marx tried on this cape and hat that I wore when I was little. My Great Grandmother had made it for me.
One day, we took Paeton swimming at the hotel pool where my parents were staying. She was so excited.
My dad took her all around the pool and taught her all about pool safety.
Paeton did such a good job following all the rules my dad taught her.
Paeton brought her new dolly with her to the pool so she could swim too.
Another day, we went to the Country Springs Water Park for a morning of splashing around. The last time I was there with Paeton she was super shy and didn't really get into things. This time was totally different...she was so much fun to play with!
Here's my mom watching Evan while Paeton and I swam.

My parents helped us complete many projects around our house while they were here. They were so much help. It was great to spend a lot of time with them and see them with our children. We were so sad to see them leave.
