Loving School

This week was my turn to drive Paeton and Allie to summer school.  I loved hearing the conversations between the girls in the backseat, their interactions with Evan and their excitement over what snack was packed for them on the way home.  On Thursday, Jodi went into work late and got to experience taking them to school with me.  We went a little early and they showed off their classroom, their lockers and how they line up in the gym.  It's safe to say Paeton is loving being 4 and going to school.

Summer T-Ball - age 4

Paeton and her friend Clayton
Her Biggest Fans
Paeton also started T-Ball on Thursday nights.  She clearly liked soccer better by the number of times she walked off the field and came to sit by us.  On the way home she announced she didn't want to go back.  She plays all the time in our backyard but I think that's because she gets to bat constantly.  She didn't like how long she had to wait in between some 'action'.  And to be honest, either did Jodi!  He was bored too.  So, we'll see what the future of T-Ball holds for Paeton.

Summer Soccer - age 4

Paeton started a summer session of youth soccer today; and boy was it hot out.  It was 50 minutes long but the coaches did a great job of giving them lots of water breaks.  Evan and I were planted on the sidelines holding her water bottle.  Paeton loves sports and it really showed on the field.  She's a bit competitive too especially during the game of 'sharks and minnows'.  I'll try to video tape next time :)

I said a little prayer on the sidelines thanking God for allowing me to be there to watch her.  So.Thankful.To.Be.A.SAHM.

Father's Day 2012

Risky Business anyone?
We ate outside last night to celebrate Father's Day.  Paeton had just got done from swimming all afternoon and Evan was just waking up from nap.  The kids were a little jazzed but it was a beautiful night to be outside.  We had a great Father's Day spent going to church, opening a few presents, swimming, relaxing and sharing a few meals together.

Journaling

Paeton is crazy about carrying around little notebooks and pens and writing anything.  She writes lists (like mommy), favorite words (usually family member names and names of whatever she is playing with) and words that are in her 'current events'.  This particular day she wanted to write down what her plans for the day were.  We were heading to a playdate with friends at the park so her first word on the sheet was 'park'.  I love watching her grow and learn.  And I love that I get to see it every day.

1st Day of Summer School

Paeton started a summer prep school for 4K today.  She will go every morning for the next 4 weeks.  She was SO excited last night as we packed her backpack and layed out her clothes.  She was slightly unwillingly to take pictures this morning but turned around pretty quick as we waited outside for her friend Allie's mom to come pick her up.  She's looking pretty big these days - couldn't believe it!

Thanks for the backpack and pretty headband Grandma Marx!

Sharing & Caring

Paeton sharing her corn-on-the-cob with Evan at dinner.
Paeton & Evan sharing toys after Paeton got home from ballet.
Evan waiting for Paeton to do #2 in a bathroom at JoAnn Fabrics.  It took a long time.

Absolutely loving life with two and getting ready for #3.

Gymnastics Party

Paeton attended her friend Sophia's 7th birthday party at Salto Gymnastics last night.  It was all 7-8 year olds...and 4 year old Paeton.  All the parents dropped off their children and ran; I stayed to watch.  Paeton looked so little compared to all the other children.  But she was determined to do what they did and she kept up just fine.  Seeing her leap into the foam pit was super scary but I didn't want to be 'that mom' and embarass her.  We had a great evening and some yummy cupcakes too!

SU'12 Family Pictures

Just some of my favorites!

1st Dance Class

Paeton started her first tap/ballet class today with our neighbor and her friend Allie.  She was SO excited and wanted to break out all her 'cute' poses.  She is too funny.  She looked so grown up to me heading off in Allie's van to class.  Wow.
