SU'13 NJ Trip - First Few Days

We arrived in New Jersey on June 13 after 22 hours of driving from Wisconsin.  It was a long, tiring trip but the kids and I settled right in and starting enjoying our vacation.

It was a bit cold our first day but Paeton & Evan insisted on cleaning the pool and playing outside.

The next day it warmed up enough for Paeton at least.  I think the temp was 66 degrees.

My sister Michelle joined us over the weekend.

Bike ride with Granpa Marx.
My parent's house.

Officially on vacation!

6 Years

Jodi and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary over Memorial Day Weekend.  I'm a little late blogging about it.  We went to the Abbey Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva, WI.  The weather wasn't really in our favor that weekend but we still had a great time and found some fun things to do.

Shopping in downtown Lake Geneva.

We went on a boat cruise our first night before dinner.  It was so fun, albeit a little chilly.
We checked out all the monster houses on the lake.

The next morning, we hit a few flea markets.  Not a great selection.
We then headed over to Burlington's Chocolate Fest.  Milwaukee's festivals could teach them a thing or ten.
That evening we went out to dinner in downtown Lake Geneva.  It was super rainy but we had a great meal and then headed to see the band Trippin' Billies.

Happy 6 years babe!

The Color Run

A few weekends ago, some of my girlfriends and I ran in the Color Run.  It's a non-timed 5k event designed to encourage everyone to get out and exercise.  Every kilometer, you walk or run through a space where you get hit with a certain color.  It got a little hard to breath at times and I was pretty fearful of all the mess.  This was a really fun event to do with friends and I'm so happy I did it.

Katey (I call her Miller) getting her game face on.
Showing off my blue moustache.
Walking down the sidewalk to get to the end of the start line.  I think there were 8 or 9,000 people there.
Everywhere I looked, there was a mess.
And then there were my friends helping each other to get a mess.

Gretchen.  Enough said.  I love her.
We waited a long time to start running.  Finally, we were off!

Stephanie and I ran together the whole time.  We both agreed we didn't like to talk and run at the same time.  So we just ran side by side and checked in on each other here and there.

The Color Party at the end of the race.

I really love this group of girls.  They always make me laugh and we really support each other.

Can't wait to see what we get into next year.
